Not sure what to say?

To Debbie, Lisa, David -- and your kids (and grandchildren?) -- It is now 2024. Alice certainly is the MOST significant and important person I've ever known (met her in 1962!). She continues to have a profound influence on how I live, and her values are those which I hope I've conveyed to my kids. (your cousins), Is this one component of immortality? Please know what extraordinary parents you had. Thank you. Wendy Tucker (Tockman)

It's 2023 and I still think of Alice--what a friend she always was. She was steadfast and loyal and most importantly, honest to her core. To any in her family that might read this so many years later, please know that she will never be forgotten. An extraordinary person.

Dear Aunti Alice:

I think of you often and miss our varied conversations. I hope that you and Mom are having fun. Do they let you two play the slots up there? Please say hi to my Dad for me. Take care!

Love,

Michael

Aunt Alice, It sure is hard not being able to see you while I talk to you. Know this, you are in my thoughts and prayers always! I love you and I miss you lots!
Love, Lori

Hi Mom - me again. All is ok here - about ready to move - new house is coming along - Katie is doing a great job managing all the details of the work being done - I think you'd like it. Kids are good - Sydney broke her leg (long story) which has made the days and bedtime challenging, but they are happy kids and Jess is doing great - she is actually working at the stables twice a week earning free lessons - I watched her this past weekend. Of course the one time I watched, she had a horse...

Mom - forgot a couple things. I told you briefly about the twins. Kate is doing well - she is very excited about the new place, and misses you very much too. She always felt so lucky to have a mother-in-law like you. And J is doing great - 100% horse crazy (even went to Kentucky with Kate for a 13th birthday girls trip), and was able to do so because she kicked it up a gear in school and bore down and brought her grades up to just about all A's. I am proud of her. It can't be easy...

Mom - although I say "hi" to you every day, I just felt like I wanted to write you a quick note, and assuming you will find Internet access and email where you are, maybe you will get this message. I can't be too personal here, since this can't be "private", but I want to make sure you know how much I love and miss you. I came by for a visit on Mother's Day. It is now my least favorite holiday - what good is it without you here. I didn't stay long because the twins were in the van, but...

Dear Lisa, Debbie, David and Jerry,
I just found out that my wonderful friend is no longer with us. She will always be in my heart. We were friends for so many years, working with ESCCA, the Art Center and Dist 65. I keep thinking of Chute, and my wonderful students, Debbie, David and Lisa. I will truly miss Alice. I extend my heartfelt sympathy. Love, Lois

I am sorry to hear of your loss. My mother passed a year and a half ago and I understand what you must be going through. They were both part of a generation of women who made our city and our world better.
