Not sure what to say?

Mrs Lyon was, by far, one of the finest teachers I had the great honor knowing. She instilled a fierce sense of pride in accomplishing new goals. We may only have been in first grade, but her methods of instruction stayed ingrained for the remaining years of my schooling. I was very disappointed that all my teachers were not of her caliber. I loved her dearly and will never forget this outstanding individual.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Lyon family. Alice was a grand Lady.

Alice & Bertha

My sincere condolences to the family. Alice was a sweet lady and lived a full happy life. I can just hear her playing the piano with the my Aunt Bertha singing at the top of her lungs. :)
Sincerely, Shannon (Dence) Phillips

I was extremely fortunate to know Alice and Wayne Lyon for many years. I was a tenant in their adjacent rental property in the 1970's and they became like family to me. I remained in touch with them when I moved away and will always remember them as two of the kindest, gentlest and most genuine people I have ever known. I will greatly miss Alice as I have Wayne.

What a delightful lady & superb teacher at South Hill School who had a million dollar smile & great motherly concern for her students ... MUCH loved by our daughters back in the early '60s! We felt privileged to have her as a guiding light for Ruth.
To all of her family we offer our heartfelt condolences.
Most sincerely & with deepest respect, John & Carolyn Blizzard

Mrs. Lyon was my kindergarten teacher at South Hill Elementary school in 1964. She was my favorite teacher and I was fortunate to see her about a year ago at her birthday dinner at a local restaurant. To my amazement she knew exactly who I was after all these years. She was a very special person and a wonderful teacher. My deepest sympathy to her family. Fondly, "the little Greek girl"
