Alice I. Mellor, 100, of Ewing, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2013, at home with her family by her side. Born in Trenton, Alice was an historical interpreter at the Old Barracks Museum retiring after 50 years of service. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church where she was Co-Director of the Altar Guild; a member and former officer of Ashlar Chapter #169, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and past president of Ewing Township Busy "C's". Alice was a bowling enthusiast and treasurer of the mixed league at Slocum's Bowling Lanes. Predeceased by her parents, William and Madeline (Gething) Frost and her husband, James Walter Mellor; she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Alice A. and David Lyons; her son James W. Jr.; her five grandchildren, Eric Emery and wife Denise, Todd Emery, Laurie Zimmermann, Timothy Mellor and wife Jennifer, and Michael Mellor and wife Sara; her seven great-grandchildren, her one great-great grandson and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at 11:30 a.m., at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. Interment will follow at Ewing Cemetery in Ewing. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at Saul Colonial Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alice's memory to St. James Episcopal Church, 1040 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville, NJ 08620.
