Not sure what to say?

I was a student of Mrs. Mittermiller in the '70s. I have great memories of her home ec class. Very fun. She was a very caring, nice lady and every day in her class was fun.

In late May, 1954, Alice and I shared a maternity room at St. Mary's Hospital, Long Beach. (I think that was you, Mark.) We lost touch when we both moved South. I remember well Alice's wisdom and humor and the laughter we shared in those days.

May God's blessings and solace be with you all.

Mark, Jim, Jerry, Jack, Karen and families ~ Take comfort in knowing their are many people who are thinking about you! Alice was like part of our family, visiting Washington on her little motorhome trips and welcoming us into her home when we were in San Diego and everything in between. She is already missed a lot, but wonderful memories of her carry on! Bless all of you ~ The Lund/Jesernig's

Dear Mittermiller family,
I was so sad when I heard "Mittermiller" had died. My name is Michele (Killman) Russo and I have been a "home ec." teacher since 1979. I had your mom for as many home ec. classes I could take. Mitt inspired me to become a home ec. teacher. I hope some of my students remember me someday with the fondness I remember your mom. She was so ahead of her time. We even did a study on the Adkins Diet with REAL rats! I loved hearing from her every Christmas. Her...

Dear Mittermiller family,

My name is Michael Crahan and I went to school with Jack. If I am given the choice whether to console you for your loss or join you in a celebration of the time that you had with your mom, I will pick the party.

Thank you for sharing her with all of us.

Dear Mittermiller Family-
I too was a student of Mrs. Mittermillers in the late 60's at La Jolla High. Still have my lovely gingham apron, potholder and many fond memories of a sweet woman. My condolences.

To the MitterMiller Family:
Your Mom was a great lady and will be missed by many.I was very sad to hear of your families loss. My condolences to all who knew her. She touched a lot of people in so many ways and will be remembered with much grace. I smile every time I think about the time Yolanda Luna, Pam Hayward and myself, spent the night with Karen Mittermiller when we were in junior high. Alice tried to teach us how to make cupcakes, but we were more interested in checking out...

Mrs. Mittermiller was a great teacher! I was in her LJHS classes from 1971-73. I'll never forget her assignment to try to make class provided bull meat palatable. My group got special permission to buy wine to marinate the meat in. I can still picture Mrs. Mittermiller gallantly chewing that tough meat, pretending it was tender and delicious. Mrs. Mittermiller was an inspiration in determination.

Dear Mittermiller Clan, Many fond memories of your wonderful family and your Mom Alice was such a jewel! She filled your home with a sense of warmth and welcome that was palpable. My thoughts go out to you. With Love, Vicki Langenbacher Ross.
