She had been recognized by former Mayor Rudy Giuliani for her 25 years of volunteerism to The Brooklyn Development Center, and the NYPD 61st Precinct Youth Dare program. She was also an active member of the Brooklyn Democratic Party until due to health reasons, she relocated to Connecticut to live with her daughter and son-in-law.

Alice loved to write poetry, especially about America. She loved to sing and listen to country music and loved doing crossword puzzles while eating her favorite foods, Chunky's and peanut M&M's.
