Adams & Swanson Funeral Home - North Platte Obituary

Alice M. Patterson, age 94, passed away on December 21, 2024, at Linden Court in North Platte.  She was born to Dewey and Thelma (Gilfry) Foster on March 6, 1930, in Maywood, NE.

To accommodate her father’s career, the family moved to Grand Island when Alice was a child.  It was her that she graduated high school and met Wayne Patterson, whom she would marry in 1948 at the First Congregational Church.  The couple had five children together, Gary, Bruce, Donna, Lee, and Lori.  In 1972, the family moved to North Platte to follow Wayne’s career on the railroad.  While Wayne worked, Alice stayed at home with her kids, making sure there was always a meal on the table and clothing on their bodies.  For a brief time, Alice helped manage Sunset Mobile Park as well.

Alice was an outstanding artist, specializing in paintings and pencil drawings.  She was an avid lover of music, especially the country western genre, and even loved to sing karaoke and dance.  Alice sewed dozens of smocks, tablecloths, and bedsheets, among many other items, and loved to cook just about anything.  She was a member of the UP Old Timers, as well as, the Eagle’s.

Those that survive Alice is her son, Gary Patterson of North Platte; grandchildren, Eric, Curtis, John, Betsy, and Kristy, Shawna, Hannah, Nicole, Jason; several great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death is her husband, Wayne; parents; siblings, Tim, Sussie.

Not sure what to say?

Sending my condolences to the family.

Alice was a beautiful lady whom I had just gotten to know the last couple years. I was at her 94th birthday party and fell in love with her paintings. Which I am fortunate to have one hanging in my dining room. It is one of my prized possessions. She came to many of our
21 Dance Club dances and enjoyed listening to the music. Family has my sympathy and prayers. She was a dear lady.

Sorry for your loss.
