Alice M. Pepe, 87, of Point Pleasant Beach, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2012. She was born in New Philadelphia, PA and lived in Irvington, NJ before moving to Point Pleasant Beach in 1989. Mrs. Pepe retired in 1988 as a security guard from the Irvington School System. She was a proud member of the Red Hat Society "Afternoon Delights" of Pt. Pleasant Beach and enjoyed being the unofficial mayor of the Boardwalk Bench.
She was predeceased by her husband, James V. Pepe, in 1997; and by her son, Gary, in 2005. Surviving is her son Jim Pepe; her daughter Christine Valestin and her husband Paul; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, November 9, from 3-7 p.m., with a funeral service at 6:30 p.m. at Van Hise and Callagan Funeral Home, 812 Arnold Avenue, Point Pleasant Beach. Entombment will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River.
I will always remember the warm hearted security guard at Irvington high school. Prayers and sympathy to the Pepe family and friends.
