We knew Mrs. Porth when she lived in Columbia and went to Ridgecrest Baptist Church. She was a good friend to all of our family - My grandparents (mr. and Mrs. Glaze) lived on Sullivans Island and the Porths were good friends. We were all saddened when Don passed away and then Mr. Porth.
She lived a long life - May she rest in peace.

My Mom, Florence Hollis Oliphant, was first cousin to Alice Ruth and they were close to the same age. My Mom was born in 1910 and died in 2003. They shared some happy times together when they were young. My sympathy to all the family. Hope I have some of Cousin Alice Ruth's genes!

I have fond memories of Aunt Alice Ruth at the Porth Reunions we have had for years. After eating and visiting, we'd often gather around the piano to sing. Try hard as I might, I could never outsing Aunt Alice Ruth. So sorry I was unable to contact her during the past several years. My sympathy to the family.

Aunt Alice Ruth was my grandmother's sister, and I always enjoyed seeing her at family reunions. I will remember her as a gracious and kind lady.

Mimi, as I knew her, was a kind and gentle person who surprised me one year with a cocunut cake for my birthday. She had a genuine concern for others that is mirrored by her family.
