Not sure what to say?

Mrs. Marie
What a wonderful mother, lady and caring person. I can remember as a young girl visiting the farm in Tennessee. My family, Tina's and Lois' would visit together at times. I just thought we were all related. Now wouldn't that been a treat to be related to Katherine. Scary! You're missed greatly by friends and family, but I'll see you again when God sees fit to call me home. He's my pilot and knows my flight number by heart.

Love,
Teressa Walker Beasley

I miss my sister Marie so much. We talked every sunday on the phone.Shewas a special lady and a wonderful Christian and a prayer warior. She was so thoughtful, caring and giving to others. She baked a many pie and cake and her delicious cinnamon rolls and gave to friends and family. I love you Marie and wished I had told you more often. Your sis, Teena

Seems to be a theme with my immediate family: Both my sisters and my mother mentioned food! I just can't separate a visit to Aunt Marie's and baked goods. That was just part of the experience, you knew you would eat well there and that something was going home with you. What a way to bless people, giving them something delicious and homeade!! I am sure that each thing thing she made had the main ingredient of love. In my lifetime, that is almost unheard of. Maybe one day, I will be able to...

As I can see from everyone else's entries Aunt Marie will be remembered by all for the goodies that she cooked. I will always remember her!

My regret is that I didn't take over my daughter, Madeline, to see the Purdy's often enough. I explained to Madeline as best a 4 year old can understand, that Marie died and if she remembered her. Madeline did and seemed to understand this. Though I miss Aunt Marie, it seems such a short while before we will reunite and enjoy the peace that follows after this life. She was always a spiritual woman to me and I've no doubt she is in heaven with her mother and father. It will be nice to see them...

There were times in my marriage I didn't appreicate Mrs. Purdy's comments on the way we should live, dress, etc. As I grew older I came to realize her input was to strengthen our family and marriage. She was the strongest person I knew and her faith was a constant companion. She was an excellent cook (her fresh coconut cake) and Christmas meals will be remembered always. I never knew what a brussels sprout was until my first Christmas as her Daughter-in-law. She was there for our family in...

Aunt Marie was a wonderful cook which is what stands out in my mind the most. Getting together at my Nana and Daddy Lloyds was always so amazing with all the family there and the terrific food. As far as I know Aunt Marie was the only person that could make a "terrific" roast, even to this day.

Aunt Marie,
I have many fond memories of spending days at your house...watching the men shear sheep, cooking with Mrs. Purdy's old spices, riding that contrary Shetland pony, Rusty. I also have lovely memories of bringing home lots of "goodies" from your house, especially the homemade mincemeat. Who else would take the time to make mincemeat? You will be missed by all of us.

Marie we will miss you and your family has lost a wonderful mother and grandmother.
