Brick-Meger Funeral Home Obituary

Alice Resler, Alice Resler of Owatonna died June 14, 2017 at Homestead Hospice in Owatonna. Funeral services are set for Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Brick-Meger Funeral Home in Owatonna. Friends may greet the family on Saturday from noon until the time of service. Interment will follow at Owatonna Memorial Gardens. Alice was born April 26, 1922 in Aurora Township, rural Steele County, the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Skalicky) Balzer. Alice attended country school. She was united in marriage to Clem Resler on June 15, 1943 in Owatonna. The couple celebrated the same birthday and were born the same year. Alice worked for Jostens for a short time. The couple made their home on a farm southwest of Owatonna raising four children. Alice worked alongside her husband Clem in all aspects of the farm. She continued to work on the farm well into retirement. Alice was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Senior Place. Her life interests included bowling, horseshoe, traveling, senior dances, gardening, and canning. Alice will be missed by children; Sandy (Orv) Brase of Owatonna, Julie (Ron) Boreen of Owatonna, Debbie Kubista of Phoenix, AZ, Dale (June) Resler of Owatonna, her grandchildren; Tami Hull, Doug (Jessica) Brase, Kim (Greg) Gauthier, Bryan (Brooke), Ben (Ashley) and Andy (Mandi) Resler, 15 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, her sister Bernice Wesley of Owatonna, and numerous nieces and nephews. Alice is preceded in death by her husband Clem, two brothers and two sisters. Memorials may be directed to Homestead Hospice Patient Care Fund.

It was truly an honor to have known Alice, when I was working at the Senior Center in Owatonna-Alice put MANY hours in committees, making lefse every fall and helping whenever she could.
