Not sure what to say?

I am absolutely devastated that I will no longer be able to bask in the presence of this wonderful, talented, caring and loving woman. I met Alice in 1972 when I began to date her late sister, Arlene. Alice and Arto hosted our wedding reception in 1975. What a lovely day that was. I will console myself with the vivid memories I have accumulated of Alice, my Arlene and their wonderful brother Albert. My heart goes out to her brother Michael, children Greg and Renee and their families.

Alice Simsar was a great colleague and mentor over the past twenty years. I offer our heartfelt condolences to her family. Crown Point Press.

I'm sorry Greg and Renee, I remember your mom as very friendly, and she made a great contribution to Ann Arbor. I hope you are both well.

Alice Simsar was a friend and mentor to me in my early days (1970s) of venturing into curatorial work for art exhibitions at the Jesse Besser Museum in Alpena and later at the Dennos Museum Center in Traverse City in my role as Executive Director. She introduced me to great artists and let me borrow work from her gallery for exhibition at the museums where I worked. I will always be appreciative of her support of my professional efforts and the hospitality both she and Art afforded me when...

My condolences to the Simsar family. One less shining star in your constellation, but each of you a shining star to carry on.

I will miss my talks with Alice & hearing her musical voice. Our paths would often cross on her walks through the neighborhood. She remained sharp in her memories & observations, even as her health declined; she pressed forward despite limited vision & mobility. She threw wonderful New Years' parties at her gallery. She had a deep decency about her that always shined.
