Read MoreI'm sorry for your family's loss. I didn't know until today that my neighbor, and my 1st grade teacher had passed away. Alice was also my daughter's teacher at Brookwood Elementary. My heart and soul aches for the loss of such an amazing lady. Alice you will always live on in my memories.

I too, am a former Brookwood student (late 1970's). It is evident from these posts how many lives the wonderful Mrs. Stanley impacted. As a teacher now myself for the last 22 years, I hope I can follow in her footsteps.

As one of her second-grade students in the 90s at Brookwood, I probably gave her a few grey hairs at the time. She was one of my favorite teachers still and will be missed! What a wonderful and fulfilling life she led, serving as a leader and positive example to so many people. May she enjoy the Lord's company forevermore. God bless.
