Not sure what to say?

It is hard to believe anyone could live life so large in 93 years and do as much as Aunt Alice did. There will always be Cornerstone Farm in many of our hearts because of the sense of community that transcended through Alice and all the Harpers beyond good and bad farming years, the Depression, war, family, children, and Life, that carries on in us. Aunt Alice offered greater depth and permanence for important memories through her avid letter writing, her teamwork in family history, her...

What an accomplished and lovely lady.
The Stokes gave us our first wedding gift. A large, round tray which we used for many years. They were special friends of my husbands parents, J. Whitney and Viginia Floyd.
Our sympathy to your family.

Allen and Susan -- I was sorry to read of your mother's death in the Herald Journal. You and your parents were always such good friends of the Civilles in Logan. The establishment of the Stokes Nature Center created a lasting memorial to them and is a living contribution to the Valley. I'll be forwarding this information to my sister, Janie, in Olympia, WA.

Dear Susan & Allen,

It was very sad to learn of your Mother’s death and I wish to express my deepest sympathy. Alice was a dear friend to our entire family and I have the fondest memories of her and Allen . Alice and I played together in the Cache Community Orchestra under the baton of Max Dalby for many years. My late husband, Bill & I took a memorable tourof Mexico at Christmas time with Allen & Alice. We tried to absorb some of the Mayan culture along the way and Allen’s...

Aunt Alice was a big part of my younger life. I always looked forward to the Stoke family coming for a visit to Lancaster, Wis. where Alice grew up. She had a zest for life and lived life to the fullest. She touched many lives. If you asked her if the glass was half full or half empty, she would have said it looks more like 3/4 full! She had a very positive outlook on life. She will be missed by many people.

To Allen, Susan, Jules, Jane and to All, whose lives Alice may have touched, I send my deepest sympathies and prayers for your loss. Alice was an extraordinary Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Teacher, Inspiration, and Intellectual Human Being. I will miss her many stories of her adventures, her kind demeanor, and her delightful presence. One of my fondest memories of Alice's many visits to Cornerstone Farm at Lancaster, Wisconsin was her child-like delight, when she would find a Pink or...

Susan, Marie and Kyle, We want you to know we are thinking of you, and are glad we were able to spend a little time with your Mom & Grandmother. We hope you will feel love and peace at this time. Love Val & Ann Hoth

I feel blessed to have Alice and her family in my life. She was a wonderful woman! My sympathy to Allen, Brenda and Susan and to all those whose lives she touched.

Alice is such a wonderful soul, and my friend. I will think of her each visit to Logan, and each time I pray in Quaker Meeting. How lucky that I know her.
