LaMar and Carol Barrus

What a dear, sweet friend we have had in Marian these many years. She has enriched my life in so many ways since we began working together as Utah Symphony members and through my association with her wonderful father. Heaven has been greatly enriched as Marian passed from this life into the eternal realms, but no more so than have our individual lives through Marian's love, concern and remarkable gifts. We send our love to all her family members.

I became friends with Marian when I started college at the University of Utah as a music major, studying composition with her father. She taught French, but also cello in the music department. She played with the Utah Symphony. I remember taking Marian up one of the canyons one night where I cooked T-bone steaks and hashbrown potatoes on a cdampfire. Eventually she moved to Logan and lived only a few blocks from where my folks lived.
We had a close friendship, as I did with both of her...

I admired Marian for her devotion to her Dad's music and her passion for the projects she chose to take on.

I love her & all the Robertsons I know and extend my best wishes to her the family.

I am grateful to have known Marian, with whom I became acquainted through my mother Helen. I have good memories of them playing cello-piano music together. Those days were long ago, but not forgotten!

Dear Family members of "cousin" Marian,
I was sorry to read of her passing. I am Carol Joy Nelson Blonquist. My dad is Victor, a brother of Aunt Naomi's. I am the last living member of dad's immediate family. When I was much younger and still living at home with dad and mom. Marian and Keith would come to Milton to visit dad and mom. Mom would fix lunch for us and I still remember that Marian and Keith would comment on how good mom's "homemade bread" tasted. I also remember how quiet and...

Aunt Marian,
You were a wonderful friend and mentor. I miss you tremendously. Friday afternoons will be so lonely without you.

RIP

I knew Marian well from working with her at the University of Utah, especially with the papers of her father, Leroy J. Robertson, and her work on the Coptic Encyclopedia. She was very protective of his legacy but all of us in the library really liked her a great deal.

I enjoyed knowing Marian for the many years that I worked at Parklane. She was always a kind person to everyone there. I would help her turn her mattress over when needed. I would repair her lamp or anything else she wanted done, because she appreciated it so much. Ariel and I both knew how much you cared for us. Rest in peace, Marian. You had no enemies here on Earth.
