Alicia Mendez Feito passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025. Born in Havana, Cuba, on August 27, 1937, she was the beloved daughter of Santiago and Avelina (Prieto) Mendez, who preceded her in death.
Alicia lived a life marked by deep devotion to her family and her faith. She was known for her generous spirit, always ready to offer her care, creativity, and kindness to others. Her perseverance through life’s challenges and her ever-present “there is always a plan B” inspired those who knew her. She was also a loyal friend whose warmth and support touched many.
She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas basketball, tending her garden, photographing sunsets, weaving baskets, sewing, decorating, and painting. She carried the rhythms of Cuban music with her throughout her life.
She is survived by her children, Jose Feito III (Tamra), Alicia Feito, Dulce Feito (Edward), and Roberto Feito (Allegra), as well as her cherished grandchildren, Maxwell Feito, Olivia Feito, Madison Daly, Mattea Feito, Santiago Feito, and Luca Feito.
Services: A memorial Mass will be held at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Austin, Texas. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Circle of Concern in Valley Park, Missouri (circleofconcern.org).
As a service of the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, friends may sign the family's on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.
