Alicia Denise Mixon was born to Jose Eugene Mixon and Sandra Villalobos on November 4th, 1987, in Pittsburg, California. She passed away in peace on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
She was a child full of energy, rather than walking she hopped, always with excitement on her tiptoes. Playing soccer she pranced, cheering for her cousin’s football team she always beamed with the biggest smile, in baseball she’d make it on base and would not stop jumping. Alicia was always happy to be a part of any experience. It was not uncommon to hear her entertaining herself as she played pretend, turning any object she found into a grand character in her stories.
As a young adult Alicia loved music, some of her favorite artists included Ashanti, B2K (Omarion), Nicki Minaj, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, and St. Lunatics. There wasn’t a roller coaster she wouldn’t ride, but spiders and allergies would stop her in her tracks. She always dressed to impress, loved shoes, and accessories to match. Alicia enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and her many pets. She had dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, birds, and rats.
Alicia graduated from Pittsburg High School in 2006, attended Los Medanos College (LMC) where she was also a cheerleader for the LMC football team, and received her certificate of completion as a Clinical Medical Assistant from Boston College in 2008.
Alicia had a bright and sunny personality, she wanted to help people, and would later enroll in nursing classes at Carrington Nursing College in Antioch. On July 11, 2011, in a strange twist of fate, Alicia was hit by a car when she lost control of the bicycle. She was riding just a couple hours after finishing her classes for the day at Carrington College. She was never given a chance of long-term survival after the accident, but bravely fought mounting complications for nearly 12 years before leaving to be with the Lord.
Alicia leaves behind a son, Demetrius Jarrod Ludd, parents, grandmothers Graciela “Chela” Villalobos and Jerlean Mixon, older sister Nicole Marie Mixon, brother Jermoundo Mixon, and many aunties, uncles and cousins. Alicia is preceded in death by her grandfather’s Jesus “Chuy” Villalobos and Eugene Mixon.
