Allan White Brock Sr.

Mr. Brock was a great individual. I remember my first time meeting with him and he taking me under his leadership for the Strawberry Festival. Working with him in his garage was so an eye opening experience but our discussions of his two grandchildren who were his heroes. I was blessed getting to know him. He was a true gentleman.

My fondest memory of Mr. Brock was the occasion where a late Summer storm blew down a huge Hickory tree in the yard next door. I had been summoned to cut up the tree for use of all things, smoking meat of course. Those zillions of still green Hickory nuts covered the ground and were camouflaged beneath the still green leaves and branches of that enormous tree. The nuts under foot were like being on roller skates as I operated the chain saw, slipping and sliding with every cut. Mr. Brock...
