Allan was my teacher, dissertation chairman and friend. I will always remember how he helped and motivated me. He would provide feedback on my drafts within a week, a turn around time that was un-heard off.
I just heard of his passing and miss him.

I was new to city planning when I met Al Feldt at Cornell--teaching with Bill Goldsmith he made urban and regional theory fascinating for me. While I was not a great CLUG player, the team in Washington tried to find ways to use gaming simulation to assist communities under the Model Cities legislation to understand the consequences of changes to their...

We should all in the simulation/gaming community be grateful for Al's immense contribution, which helped lay the foundations of this vibrant discipline.
Al was a gentle and generous man - my few encounters with him endeared me to him.
I liked the obituary that he himself wrote.

I send my condolences to Allan's belovedschildren, grandchildren and great grandchild, along with his long time partner and friends and students.. Allan brought a gentle, intelligent and unique presence to the meetings where I observed him.. I surmised we shared similar world views and senses of humor, in addition to both being hard of hearing, though we never shared much one on one conversation.. What a giant...

Way back in 1980, I engaged Allan as a consultant in Michigan National's successful effort to organize a new bank in Ann Arbor. He was very knowledgeable in his field and a great guy with whom to work. I've had only one contact with him since those days, but remember him well. It's striking how some personalities stick with you. My sincere condolences to his family on his passing.
