Not sure what to say?

I always had a good time with Al i miss him .John Chapin

I always enjoyed Al´s company on the golf course. He was a fun and humorous man.

i miss al we had good times together

I am finding it hard to express my feelings. I will be forever grateful that I stumbled upon Al's Black & White photography class. It has informed the way I shoot and made me hopelessly addicted to working in larger formats. Maran puts it so well, he was our dedicated and conscientious leader. That class was a labor of love for him. Underneath Al's joking manner he was deeply compassionate and selfless. I miss him so very much.

Al was a dear friend who I knew since my first photography class in 1988, Funny would not not put justice to his demeanor...A legend! Haha I loved to play golf with him and did some photo shooting with him A great guy and he will be sorely missed. You touched all who knew you and you will not be forgotten Rest in peace Al

I am finding it hard to get my head around Al's passing. This is a loss of many dimensions. I already miss seeing Al on Tuesday evenings for photo class- this class was a fixture on my schedule for 10 years. Even now, when it is a Tuesday, it just feels wrong that I am not getting my stuff together, not trading wisecracks with Al, not hearing him say "how's everybody doing?", not pulling prints, and not being able to just share a common sense of creative production with his Tuesday night...

Al's Black&White Photo Class, Dec. 2018

Al was 'one of a kind," the Don Rickles of our photo class. Al was a teacher, an excellent photographer, a camera collector, a golfer, and a lot of fun. I was in his class from Day one: He will be sorely missed!

Thank you Al for teaching our photo class. I was a member for over 10 years, and appreciate your humor, knowledge, and tenacity for keeping the class going ! My condolences to your family. We will miss him.
