Not sure what to say?

So sorry to hear about your dad . I think of him often. Our condolences. I still have nightmare of moon shining off of his glasses when he was star gazing! Ha!! Love,Amy Legee and Ed Bozian (169 oxbow) Margaret / contact me when u have some time.

In his last years Allan sent me design sketches for controlling climate change by various ways to shade some of the incoming sunlight. I replied that I could see where a lot of research still had to be done, regretting that I didn't have enough of that expertise to be much help. Others have done some of that research more recently--it's a good goal, still very distant, but I'm glad to see how some of his ideas live on. I wonder what he would think about Gaza?

Allan was a force of nature, full of enthusiasm for all of life and living. We enjoyed many happy times with him and his wife Sue -- hiking in the White Mountains, wide ranging discussions on topics from politics to orbital mechanics to classical music. Our winter mountaineering trips were among my favorites. He was one of a kind. 'Sorely missed' does not begin to express our feelings.

Working with Allan in the Apollo years was an experience to be treasured. In the Lab's world of great and good people, Allan stood out. The wisdom he showed in leadership contributed much to the success of Apollo missions. Outside of work, he applied his customary vigor to what needed to be done much better in Vietnam and what more needed to be done about climate change.
