Wow, I am saddened to hear that my Teacher, Music Supervisor and Friend has passed on to the other side. Much of who I am today has a lot
to do with Al's mentoring me through high school, college, teaching and my recording artist career as well. My most sincere condolences to Eric and the family...I will miss him dearly, God Bless....Everett Collins 4/5/11

Mr Langstaff was an excellent musician, band director, and mentor. He listened to us and incorporated our ideas into our performances. He pushed us into expanding our horizons musically and there was such a creative flow while he was there. I would never have participated in NYSSMA without his encouragement. He paired together an unlikely trio of Frank Billingsley, Elliott Maker, and myself to perform "Variations on a Theme by Paganinni" and we blue ribboned (B). Amityvilles' music quality...

He was a fine trombonist and will be missed. For he's now in Heaven and playing that Heavenly music with all his fellow musicians that went before him.. We all have fond memories of Allan. Best wishes from a fan, Diann Franks
