West Bloomfield – It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Allan H. Leech, age 82, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was preceded in death by his dear parents, Mary Elisabeth and Arthur Hugh Leech, United Kingdom. He is survived by his loving wife Kathryn Fitzpatrick; step-son, Scott Fitzpatrick; Step-Daughter-In-Law, Grace Lin; and first wife, Judith Farrar; Florida. In the U.K.: his sister Irene Harvey-Smith; his nephews, John, David, Chris and Tim; his cousin, Christina Ray Downing.

Allan retired from Masco Corporation after 30 years as President of MascoTech Forming Technologies, headquartered in Royal Oak, MI. Born in the United Kingdom, Allan served Her Majesty the Queen as a British Royal Marine and was a veteran of the 1956 Suez Canal War.

To honor Allan’s wishes there will not be a public gathering. For those desiring memorial contributions, the family would suggest: The Alzheimer’s Foundation; Salvation Army; Samaritan’s Purse; The Care Team Hospice; on Northwestern Highway, in Farmington Hills. Or, any charity of your choice.

Not sure what to say?

Allan was my step father and a part of my life for almost 30 years. In that time I learned to admire his values like integrity dignity and excellence and he showed us that no matter how old you become you can still maintain those values and continue to teach and love those around you. His intelligence and generosity were felt by everyone around him. He could remain steadfast in disagreements but he always guided the team to a better future and came at every situation from a place of...

Allan was a great friend and business associate. His vision, determination and hard work were greatly responsible for Masco's success in the hot forging industry. I had the pleasure of being a contractor doing business with him. And I might add the greatest relation ship I have ever had with a customer. His legacy will live and I am sure he already has things stirred up at has new residence.

Allan, you will always hold a special place in my heart and on the corner of my desk for all the lessons in business you provided me. I know you are now in a more peaceful place than the automotive business I'm still part of, but will always remember fondly fighting the battle together in what were some of the glory days of MascoTech, in which you will always been known as a legend for the outstanding business you built.

May you find comfort and peace in your memories of your love one. May the God of peace comfort you. Isaiah 61:1,2

To the family, you have my sincere condolences. When someone falls asleep in death (Ecclesiastes 9: 5,10) the memories we have of them become our most precious treasure. May those memories comfort you as well as Gods promise at John 6:40

Mary Lou and I knew Allan and Kathy first as neighbors and then as good friends for many years. Allan will be remembered for his unique personality that was a mixture of warmth, humor, and determination. Allan always displayed a serious consideration for others, and a neighborly regard for compromise. Allan's attention to detail and pursuit of perfection made for an interesting exchange of interactions between us and our neighborhood association over the years. But, all of that aside, ...

Allan lived a very long life enough to impact a great many of people leaving behind outstanding accomplishments, and a great many gather to honor his presence in life and in the afterlife, may god bless you on your new journey and the rest of your family as you were dear to a great many in this world you are still loved and deepest condolences for your family
