Al was a talented and accomplished mentor. Someone made a statement to the effect that, he is in heaven making sure that some young marine gets “squared away.” I am one of the “young marines” that he squared away down here on earth.

My husband and I knew Al from Busch Gardens. I worked with him at the Muffin Man and enjoyed spending time with him. He was the first and only to call me "Ai" as he calls his daughter, but with an "E." He will be missed. I'm sorry I just found out. I would have come to the funeral. I will be keeping you in my prayers.

Dear Rose & Family,...I am so sorry for your lost as he was a true brother Marine. I hope he did not suffer to much at the end. I just lost my brother last week also. He was in so much pain at the end that I was happy that he went on to the next world. Allan was in HMR-163 (Japan) with me in 1957. He was a Parachute Rigger & I was a Helicopter Mechanic. I was glad that we made contact these past years as it brough back some memories of the past. When you say your last words to him will you...
