I worked with Al for many years at the LEDC. He was instrumental in many of the LE data base systems and the CLETS. He was an excellent technician and interesting person. His knowledge of computer systems were significant in making both CLETS and CJIS significant accomplishments. My condolences to the family. Bob Silva

I had the pleasure of working with "Big Al" at Cal DOJ. Al is a major reason California Law Enforcement have CLETS and CJIS today; the result of which is saving many lives and catching countless criminals. Al knew his stuff and was a great guy. RIP big guy. Jack Scheidegger

We had the pleasure of working with Al on the California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS) many years ago. He actually saved the project and went on to work at the Department of Justice overseeing the system for many years. He was very well-respected for his intelligence, quick wit and for being a good friend. I'm sure he is happy now with Carol his beloved wife. Rest in Peace Al. Carole and Harris Herman
