Allan ProctorAllan Proctor, 67, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2009, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.He was a 1959 graduate of Bosse High School, and attended the University of Evansville. Allan worked as the Vice President of Hesmer Foods in his early years. Later, he and his wife started A&D Distributors, which was also known as the Grippo Potato Chip Distributorship. They built the distributorship from a one truck operation to a multi-truck and multi-state operation until retirement in 2000. Allan loved golf, racquetball, and was a basketball fanatic. He was famous for his amazing bar-b-que and his passion for feeding others. Allan attended St. Paul Episcopal Church. Allan is survived by his wife of thirty one years, Kris; daughters, Katie of Evansville, and Polly Moore and husband Johnny, of Mandeville, Louisiana; son, Jeff Proctor and wife Airica of Evansville; grandchildren, Mason and Maddy Moore, and Avery Proctor; Aunts, Elizabeth Baskett and Evelyn Cooksey; many cousins, niece, Kristi Meyer and husband Scott; adopted son, Jeff Cherry of Pensacola, FL, and his beloved, spoiled dogs, Daisy, Sadie, Betsy, and Blondie.Services will be Monday, July 13, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, IN.Visitation will be Sunday, July 12, 2009, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and continued on Monday, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, Kris and Katie request donations be made to The Boys and Girls Club of Evansville, 700 Bellemeade Ave., Evansville, IN, a place that Allan loved to devote his time and energy to.Condolences may be made to the family online at www.ziemerfuneralhome.com.
