Not sure what to say?

I had the good fortune of being a Linebacker for Al, in 1979 and 1980. He was a great head coach. He instilled a lot of confidence in us, and made into fearless competitors. He warmly referred to us as his "Junk yard dogs," because we would never back down or lose or poise. Well, we got that attitude in great part from him. At least that was what I carried off the field and into life. Thanks Al. God bless.

My thoughts a prayers are with the family at this time. It is with great fondness and heart felt feelings that I remember my conversations with Al both when I was at Nouvel Catholic Central and then Central Michigan. He was a good man and I know he will be missed. May he rest in peace and God Bless.

RIP Coach, I will always remember the funny story about jumping up with your helmet in hand when your football coach shouted, "Quick(pause) you have to hit him quick. I will cherish that story you told at our Shields Junior High football banquet.

Al, you were a great friend to me when I came to Dow High. I wi always remember, the advice, stories, and laughs. Thanks, Jim Willis

So sorry to hear of All's death. Was looking forward to talking with him on our close birthdays. Have so many good memories of our sailing days and trips together. Always good memories! Sally

Coach Quick was my offensive line coach at Northwood for three years. During that time he brought out the best in me. He challenged us to improve every day and would accept nothing less than our best. I have nothing but love and respect for him. There are too many "Quickisms" to list here, but my favorite was "Don´t tell me how rough the water is, just bring in the boat!" RIP Coach Quick
