Not sure what to say?

I've known Alan since high school, and I've always loved and admired him. We stayed in touch for many years first in college, then in Chicago and finally in Santa Fe when he hosted our family (including our boys Noah and Jacob) there.
I will miss him, as I know that many will.

I met Allan in 2006 while working at Verve Gallery of Photography. His passion for the arts and for people and life was ever present in his visits to the gallery. Through the years regarded him as a friend of the gallery not just a collector. His dedication to Mary during her illness was a gift to behold and forever humbling. His kindness was also a gift to those that knew him. However, it was his humor, frankness and shamelessness that made me love him as a person! Sadly, I lost touch with...

I met Allan when I was 16, He's the reason I went to the University of Chicago. We had a long distance friendship for decades originally based on our fascination for the work of J.D. Salinger and then on many other topics like mysticism, Judaism and Ramakrishna. He missed Mary so very much. "When the flower blooms, the bees come uninvited". Allan's life and many friendships prove the truth of this.

Ah Allan. Always a smile, always a warm hello and embrace. Thank you Allan for all your contributions to community, to the arts and to most humane side of humanity. You will be missed

I met Allan when I moved to Santa Fe in 1986, where my sister Mary was living. I spent the next 20 years living about 10 minutes away. My husband, Steve and I and our two children, Sionann and Oisin, were lucky to be able to spend many, many years hanging out with Mary and Allan and meeting family and friends of Allan. We will miss Allan's conversation, compassion, laughter and kindness and his special way of getting to know each and every person. Our condolences to his family.

How lucky we were to have had the pleasure of his company.

I was so very sorry to hear of this news. I've known Allan for decades going back to Pilates Santa Fe. He had a great eye for art and ear for music - that album collection! Always kind and greeting me with a smile - I'll always remember that.

Always a pleasure to do business with!
May he rest in Peace.
Our condolences to his family.

Allan and Odessa

My relationship with Allan spanned decades through many changes in residence and partners on my end, but our Allan had the same address and phone number all that time.
In the last several years, we developed the tradition of going out for our birthdays to the most unforgettable dinners and conversation, and having Allan to our house on his birthdays for a home cooked meal (and homemade chocolate cake- his fave).
We were fortunate enough to have my 3 year old grandson know and really...
