I worked with Al at WCPO-TV in Cincinnati 1981-83. I knew him as a man of integrity. His knowledge of the area and people could open doors that were closed. I knew Allan as the kind man with a big smile at 9:30 mass at Saint Agnes. We would often arrive late with our kids and he would just smile and say right on time we saved a seat for you. Allan White was a kind soul with a quick, sharp wit. He was the best newsman I ever met. Al could tell a story and draw a map with just the right amount of detail. He was a mentor and a dear friend. I loved this guy and will miss him. The world has lost a bright light.
