Not sure what to say?

I’ll never forget how kind AJ was to me at Jewel.. he scrambled up high when I couldn’t reach and always walked hurriedly so he could serve customers in the store and at the cash register I think of AJ, with his smile, often! He was one in a million!

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always. I moved out of DeKalb so I just found out. He was a great person. Loved to see him at Jewels. He knew where everything was kept.

AJ was someone who would brighten ny day anytime I left my house. Being able to see him and have conversations in the beautiful quiet town of Dekalb with him were some of the best parts of my day. We will forever cheer on the Chicago Cubs for you!

He was good good guy. Rest peace

Sorry. I hate mistakes and typos. Should have been "What are you doing, Allen?" as Allen handed the bottle back to me. Another mistake: Korbel is fine, but I hould have given Allen a bottle of Dom Perignon. He deserved it.

Great, and I mean a great guy! We were fellow employees at Jewel way back in the 90s. When he told me he was retiring, I did a sneaky thing: went to Jewel, bought a bottle of Korbel champagne from Allen, who put it in a bag and handed it to me. I said: "What are doing, Allen? This is for you!" We laughed. So very sad about his passing. But what a guy! Korbel for everyone in Allen's memory!

Allen was a dedicated worker at Jewel.. always pleasant to customers.. going out of his way to serve others.. I can still see his quick step and energetic way as he hustled about treating us all in a friendly efficient way.. my sympathy to his family.. he will be sorely missed! Lolly Voss

Such a positive presence at Jewelpleasant and professional. Always enjoyed my interactions with him.

A.J. was, probably, the most well known member of the DHS class of 1989. Both during our high school days, and after. Everyone knew and was friendly with AJ, he never knew an enemy, and everyone he met was soon counted as a friend. AJ was a fixture at Jewel, and his absence there has definitely been felt by every regular. On behalf of the class of `89 I would like to extend our sincerest heartfelt condolences to his family and extended family along with everyone that AJ´s one of a kind...
