Allen Matthew Barber

Allen came to me in a dream last night. He was sitting at a table surrounded by friends, and even in a dream I stared at him in disbelief, knowing that he wasn't alive. He eventually made eye contact with me and yelled my name, spread his arms out, and said "tell me you love me". My dream self didn't know what to say, and rushed in to hug him. I woke up and have been thinking of him all day. Even 11 years later..... I miss him so much. He will never be forgotten.

Never knew Allen, but I know of Jackson and I've heard about Allen. Just a current daphne high school senior searching through a list of scholarships. I saw this particular one, and it warmed my heart. This is awesome what you do. So much strength in being able to turn this situation around and give back to someone in our community. I'm sure he was a great person, and reading all of these entries proves it. I am not majoring in fine arts, but knowing that this is a thing makes my heart swell...

Allen will always hold a place in my heart. His talent and dedication have always inspired me.

Wow.. this came as a shock to me. I was just sitting here and thinking about Allen and figured I would try to get a hold of him cause I haven't talked to him in a long time and then I saw this and my heart just broke. I used to be Allen's girlfriend a long time ago when I was 14. This is crazy. Allen's family I am so so so sorry for your loss. I know you all don't know me but I will have you all in my prayers.

Allen, I miss you so much. I will never forget our kiss in "the music man"...I still sing "goodnight my someone" and think of you. I love you more than words can decribe. You will always be my music man. I pray that you're singing with the Angels in heaven.
