Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to hear of your recent loss to your family. Whenever I saw Al around town he would always stop and visit me and whoever I was with as if we were old friends. What a great loss to the whole community. If only there were more people like him out there. It is funny to me that he had so many nicknames, somehow when I played basketball with Beth, I got the nickname of Ding. Beth your dad still called me Ding after all these years. It always made me smile. He is the only one...

Allen & I were 1956 graduates at Powell County High School. I will remember him in my prayers. My thoughts and sympathies are with you and your families at this most sorrowful time.

Al and I were classmates at PCHS. Also we both graduated from MSU in the spring of 1963. Al was not a close friend but we shared many memories. May God bless his family.

oh my gosh - we are just a SMALL family that has been BLESSED in a BIG way for MANY years by the forever friendship of "the Bears", especially Papa Bear, Mama Bear and of course little celebrity Bear - our hearts are heavy with grief and sadness but also with celebration of a most special, wonderful man - what a privilege to have known such a "leader", "rock", "helper", actually a saint on earth and true legacy - we luv all of you bear family and know all the wonderful memories and the vast...

Al was the nicest man ever, my son Dirk, and I miss him dearly and will always remember the hectic race around getting loaded up to go to State Special Olympics,. Remember the good times!

Dear Jan and family,

Al left his footprint on so many hearts.
He was truly a blessing in all the lives he touched in this world.

We are all blessed by having walked beside him along his path at one time or another.

We share your sadness and lift you up in prayer,

Renee Levine

My Lisa still remembers Al Bean fondly even though she has not seen him in 20 years. This testifies to his warm and wonderful personality. He will be missed by many. I always tried to emulate him, but have always come up short. I regret I cannot rearrange my schedule to get to his celebration Saturday. I wish I could offer the family some helpful wisdom, but I have none. It is not true that time heals all ills, but it does allow one to accept the facts. My prayers to the whole family.

Jan, Mark, Beth, Julie and Family,

Al was such a great guy. I remember growing up in the old neighborhood and always seeing him around. He always had something nice to say. Your family was a blessing to our neighborhood and we all had a lot of good times.
I know that you will all miss him so much but like John said you wil not be alone. There are many people who feel the sadness of your loss.
The SUB just doesn't seem the same without Al and I doubt that it ever...

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time. I will cherish the memories of many phone calls and e-mails from "Papa Bear", and the many hours he gave to Special Olympics. Many hugs to all from the Team
