Not sure what to say?

My deepest condolences to Allen's family. I was shocked to learn last week of Allen's passing. He and I were friendly competitors in the myelin diffraction field, and go back nearly 40 years. I will always treasure our 1992 collaboration in co-authoring a book chapter. I have always had the utmost respect for his insights and novel approaches to membrane diffraction, and will greatly miss his reactions to our latest research endeavors.

I'm so sorry to hear of Allen's passing. I miss him already. He took my classes when my father died last year.

My sincere condolences to the Blaurock family. You are in my prayers.

I was so sorry to learn that Allen had passed away. I still expect him to ride his bike into the Evanston Ecology Center bringing us information, plants, or some timely advice. Allen helped us when he could and was generous with his time and support.
I truly appreciate the time Allen spent with my son (when he was in 8th grade) on my son's science fair project, helping him evaluate his research, giving good ideas and suggesting ways to look at the information. Allen's help really paid...

This was a dreadful shock. Death is never easy, but sudden death is so very difficult. Alan was a kind and witty individual. I met him 20 years ago at Kraft, and knew him throughout the years and into his retirement. I saw him often when he came to the Credit Union. He was admired and respected in Krafts scientific community. He will be missed.

I was fortunate to converse with Allen in the science department office at ETHS about up-to-date science research that we read about in the journals. I will miss those enlightening encounters.

My sincerest condolences. Allen was a true thinker, a scientist, and an excellent educator. The latter is how I met Allen at ETHS, and I will have him and his family in my thoughts and prayers.
