Al was a golfing friend here in Sun City for 14 years. He was always fun to play with thru good times and bad. He was my source for information on my investment in BofA stock. He will be missed here in Sun City. Thank you Debra for your letter and telling me about this website.

My thoughts prayers and condolences to the family of Allen. I served with Allen on the Rogers from August 1952 to May 1957. He was an outstanding shipmate and we have lost a true patriot. To Allen's family and friends,may the Good Lord's face shine upon you and give you peace.

Very sorry to hear that Allen has passed on. I served on the Rogers 1948/1952 as a signalman. Bless the family and close friends, he will be missed.

He talked feeley about his love of his Navy time and his family. I was looking forward to meeting Al in 2015 at the Rogers reunion West. Al was a humorous person and both my husband and I enjoyed his friendship through many years starting in Salinas. We shared many events with their family including a wedding and Al and Laura's anniversary.

I worked at the club in Santa Rosa and referred to Al as "uncle Al" because he was so fun to joke around with. We kept in touch for years after he moved to Roseville through email and through Russ Swanson. I'm sorry to hear this news of his passing, my heart goes out to Laura, his family and friends.
