Not sure what to say?

Dear Ed:

There are no words that can express how we feel for you and your family. We send our deepest sympathies and love to you and we are praying for you.

We both sent you cards but they were returned. We had the Skokie address.

Neither one of us will ever forget what a wonderful friend you have been to our family and all the love that you had shown us through our time of overwhelming grief and sadness. You are absolutely the best. God Bless you and your family. ...

My sincere condolences on your loss. I have never met any of your family buy somehow, I feel I share your pain. My nephew, Alan Cunniffe, was shot and killed on December 8 in Ireland, in an armed robbery attempt at the family store. An ocean away, but the same devastation. My deepest sympathies on your loss. Allen sounds like he was a great guy and the world is less without him.

It is hard to say goodbye to a good guy. I was so sad to learn of your loss. Mr. Hoover was definitely an intelligent guy with character.
2Corinthians 1:3,4-" God and Father of Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation."
Know that Jehovah cares and gives you His comfort.

Ed, it's been years since I have seen you, but you have always been in my thoughts (just ask Clemens). There often seems to be no justice in this world and those who do good are often taken from us. I trust that your relationship w/Allen brings you some comfort. Always your friend, John Dzurak

Ed and Family: Nasrin and I send our deepest sympathy at these difficult times. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Louise, Annette, and Allen Jr. -
Myself and my sister Michelle extend the deepest sympathies to you and your family during such a difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Allen, Sue and Family-
I feel so terrible about what happened to your father. As a tenant of 500 W. Madison, this was a tragedy that hit very close to home for me. You are in my thoughts.

Al, I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest condolences to you and your family. In your time of tragic loss, I can only hope to provide some small comfort with a few kind words and healing thoughts.

For all the Hoover Family. Please accept my condolences at your tragic loss. I only knew Allen for a few years, back when I'd returned to Chicago in the early 70s and was beginning my career at UIC (where I still am). We had many a fine conversation, and I will never forget his lively and wide-ranging interests, and his intellectual depth. He was certainly a fine teacher without intending to, as well; he taught me more about the Assyrians than I ever thought was out there.... But that was...
