Allen L. Johnson

Allen L. Johnson, age 79, of Raymond, died Monday morning, December 31, at Rice Care Center in Willmar. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 4, at the Church of St. Mary with Fr. Steve Verhelst officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery near Raymond. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday with a 7:30 p.m. Parish Prayer service at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Allen Lee Johnson was born June 23, 1928, in Willmar, the son of Harold and Mabel (Armstrong) Johnson. He grew up and attended country school in the rural Raymond community. On December 27, 1948, he married Mary D. Schorn in Raymond. They lived and farmed in the Raymond area for over 50 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, a past-president of the Raymond Sportsmen, and a former member of the Woods Township Board and Sacred Heart Catholic Church Council in Raymond. Allen is survived by seven sons: Jerome (and Laura) Johnson of New London, Rodney (and Julie) Johnson of Eden Valley, Jeff (and Marsha) Johnson of Clara City, Brian (and Lois) Johnson of Raymond, Lon (and Paulette) Johnson of Little Falls, Kevin (and Deb) Johnson of Minneota and Wayne (and Keri) Johnson of Lucan; three daughters: Linda Weets of Kerkhoven, Barb (and Richard) Fank of Raymond and Marsha McCleary of Kerkhoven; a son-in-law: John Boyle of Redwood Falls; 26 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother: Daryl (and Eunice) Johnson of Raymond; four sisters: Allene (and Ken) Hookom of Chanhassen, Arlys Molenaar of Raymond, Val Jaenisch of Pennock and Vonnie (and Ken) Swart of Renville and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Mary in 2002; a daughter: Deb Boyle in 2000; a grandson: Jeremy Johnson in 1994 and a son-in-law: Ronald McCleary on Dec. 22, 2007.
