Allen D. Nolley

NOLLEY, Allen D. - Of Flint, age 82, died Friday, February 28, 2003 at Community Home Health & Hospice. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, the family will officiate. Cremation will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Home Health & Hospice. Visitation 5-8PM Sunday and 1-8PM Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Nolley was born in Leachville, Arkansas on July 8, 1920 and was a resident of the Flint area most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II, from 1942 - 1945. He married Josephine Bobek on April 21, 1943. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton. Mr. Nolley was a former president of Atherton PTA and former president of Atherton Board of Education. He was a volunteer with the American Red Cross for 13 years and also volunteered as an election worker. Mr. Nolley was employed by AC Spark Plug Division in the Personnel Department for 35 years, retiring in 1974. Surviving are children, Dr. David and wife Dr. Nancy Nolley of San Jose, California, Joyce and husband Ed Sparkman of Florida, Daniel and wife Barbara Nolley of Fenton; 7 granchildren, Terry, Tim and Andy Nolley, Terry Sparkman, Jessica, Alex and Rachel Nolley; 2 great-grandchildren, Colby Sparkman and Ami Nolley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Nolley on June 14, 2001.
