Not sure what to say?

To Allen's family:
I had the pleasure of having Allen as a teacher for the past two years; what a wonderfully talented and fun person. He had such a way of delivering information that you forgot it was a class that you were going to be tested on. He will be so greatly missed but I feel there will be many, many times when people will think of him and cherish the knowledge and the great way he had of expressing himself. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Allen was a pleasure to work with and he will be greatly missed. I think the thing I will miss the most is his wonderful, quirky, sense of humor. We will tell "Allen stories" for a long time.
Please accept my deepest sympathy.

I WAS SHOCKED AND SADDENED TO HEAR OF ALLEN'S PASSING. HE HAD SUCH A LOVE FOR TEACHING AND INSPIED HIS STUDENTS WITH CHARMING WAYS. I FEEL SO FORTUNATE TO HAVE HAD THE SHORT BUT SPECIAL TIME TO GET TO KNOW SUCH AN EXCEPTIONAL MAN. MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY FOR YOUR LOSS.

I was lucky enough to have Allen for a teacher Fall 2002. He was a great teacher and taught me so much. I am very sad to know that I will not be able to have another class from him. He allowed himself to becomes friends wtih the students and I will miss him very much.

I was lucky enough to meet Allen some two years ago. Allen struck me as an Independent thinker but not isolated from society as some teachers and educators become as they get older. He was friendly and his sense of humor grand !
He was truely knowledgable and giving person. And that is how I will remember him, sharing knowledge and also listening to those who wished to express their views.

His graciousness and warmth will be greatly missed on this landscape that has become...

I have had the good fortune of having had Allen as a professor at El Centro these past two years and am deeply saddened by his passing. His charming ways, sense of humor and passion for design will forever be a precious memory. I feel blessed to have known such a dear man. Please accept my sympathy for your loss.

Clissie, Margaret and Pedie,

I was saddened to read Chip's obituary. It has been years since I have had any contact with your family since it was Margaret who kept us in touch. Allen certainly had an illustrious career and I am certain you were very proud of him. My thoughts are with you. Pam Erringer Jorgenson

I was so pleased to chair the college search committee that recommended to the dean to hire Allen at El Centro. Our trust placed in him was always upheld by his outstanding professional performance and all faculty and students loved him. It was my good fortune to get to know this remarkable man closely through our many conversations, lunches and professional work. His wonderful humor will live with us all. Please accept my deepest sympathy for your great loss. He will be deeply missed as...

I will always remember Allen's kind, generous and fun-loving nature. His sense of humor and his way with words brought light to even the most dire situations. His love of people and the interior design profession was manifested in the consistent, unselfish, loving support and encouragement he gave to his students and his friends. El Centro College has lost a valuable, memorable teacher. I know I speak for all whom he touched and who knew him when I say he will be missed but always...
