He was the instructor for the required "design" course (Engineering 106B) at UCLA when I took it in the mid-1970's. In UCLA's "unified curriculum", the students had a wide variety of backgrounds, so he taught this as a course in decision making, with each student developing a design for a self-chosen product. Professor Rosenstein took the time to make sure that each student understood the design trade-offs in his project (there were no female students), and especially what would now be...

Dr. Allen is such a source of inspiration for me now as he was in 2007 when I worked for his wife Dr. Betty. They are and always will be an awesome example of teamwork, love and family.
