My husband and I both were in Vivian High School when Allen Self was known as one of the best basketball players in Caddo Parish. Some of the boys from Belcher would venture to Vivian and in those days the Methodist MYF would meet together. Mrs. Self, Parker and the entire family, I am truly sorry to learn of Mr. Self's passing. I loved my visits with him. Funny, kind, caring, compassionate, and so much more. I LOVED his personality and know where you get yours from Parker. May God be with you all during this very difficult time and always. Turn to the many wonderful memories that you have that will last your lifetime. He was truly a blessing to all that got the pleasure of meeting him.
