For Allen's daughters, my memories of your father are from high school. He was a friend of me and my friends. News of his death was painful. I hope you are bearing up.

I have not seen Allen in over sixty years yet so strong and powerful is my memory of the time we spent together when the world was still young that it seems like yesterday (about which there's quite a LOT that I can't remember today). I shall devote my Sunday Mass to Allen's memory (religion was a frequent topic of our conversation in those days, practicing Catholic and observant Jew). Reqiuem aeternam dona ei, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei. Requescat in pace. Amen

Dear Sharol, I am privileged to have known Al since Rockford days and meeting you and reconnecting in the last few years. Joelle and I will focus on that sunny day in Elkhart Lake, our last meal and hours of sharing and laughs. The old Rockford College 'date room' that our group often took over and Stessman's apartment in Chicago where the family welcomed me stand out in my memory. Al's joyful life inspires me. With love, Tom and Joelle

Dear Sharol and Family,
We just returned from a mission trip to Mexico and learned of Al's passing. We are praying for your family during this difficult time. Al was a special friend to Bill and I. A true gentleman and caring friend. We always looked forward to seeing him subbing at North. We were truly shocked to hear the news. May God hold you in the palm of His hand as you face the days ahead!

Dear Sharol, so sorry to hear of Al's passing. Have many fond memories of you two at Farnsworth. May God bless you and sustain you during this difficult time.

We were saddened to hear about Al's passing. We have so many good memories from teaching, socializing, and travelling together. We miss him already.

I am so sorry to hear about Al Stessman's passing. He was so kind to me when I started teaching at North. We shared a classroom. After he retired I looked forward to seeing him at North when he subbed. We always said hello and gave each other a hug. I know that I always wanted him to sub for me whenever he could. It was great to have a sub come in and be able to teach a lesson on Julius Caesar. He will be greatly missed. God's blessing to you and your family.

I am speechless! This was a true gentleman and a true asset to Congregation Beth El. He will be truly missed. G-d Bless his family.
