Allen Edward Weikert, 72, husband of Joann (Wood) Weikert, of White Hill Road, died on Sunday, June 20, 2010, at his residence.

He was born on April 2, 1938, in Hanover, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Harvey and Delores Weikert.

Prior to retirement, Mr. Weikert was employed by A.M.P. in Mount Sidney.

He was a member of Hebron Presbyterian Church where he was a member of the choir. He was a former member of Wayne Hills Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, family members include three sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Autumn Weikert of Apex, North Carolina, Brian and Elizabeth Weikert of Fuquay, North Carolina, and Kevin and Wenda Weikert of Waynesboro; three daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Adam Schainblatt of Raleigh, North Carolina, Karen and Mike Fultz of Verona, and Judith and Thomas Mooneyham of Staunton; a sister, Lois March of Pennsylvania; 16 grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce Weikert.

A funeral service will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at Hebron Presbyterian Church by the Reverend Frank Wyche. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be his grandsons.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at the Henry Funeral Home.
