She was a faithful member of Mt. Rose Baptist Church for more than 30 years, where she served as a trustee, treasurer of the choir, member of the Senior Usher Board, director of the Youth Usher Board, and an adamant supporter of the youth department.
She was the matriarch of Golden Gate Funeral Homes, Waxahachie, Texas, September 15, 1980, Dallas, February 5, 1985, and Lancaster, Texas, April 4, 1999.

Allene leaves to cherish most precious memories in the minds and hearts of her husband of 34 years, John Beckwith Sr.; her children, Carolyn Haynes (Kevin), Michael Ford, Debra Denise Blackwell (Robert), Charlotte Neal (Ricky) and John Beckwith Jr.; her nephew, Michael Beckwith; her goddaughter, Cassandra Coleman; her grandchildren, Detra, Katrina, Michelle, Fred Jr., DaAshlaun, Bryce, John III, Taylor, Denise, Tyler, Whitney, Tristian, Zachary, Jordan, and Megan; her great-grandchildren, Damontre, Dayon, Dariel, and one unborn great-grandchild; her church family; her funeral home family; her special friends, Emma Taylor, Wanda Johnson, Chris Brown, and Betty Rae Dickerson; and numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many friends.

Even though we are in the business of caring for others during a death, that does not make our personal seasonal time of reality any easier. Now trust and look to Him who you have recommended to others in your profession over the years. He really is able to keep you from falling and failing.
