Allison Arlene Ayers VERONA

Allison Arlene Ayers, 21, of Teresa Circle, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 11, 2008.

She was born February 13, 1987, in Waynesboro, a daughter of Stephen and Linda Hoover Ayers.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen A. Ayers; maternal grandfather, Eugene Hoover; and grandmother, Voncille Hoover.

Allison was a 2005 graduate of Waynesboro High School and a member of Second Presbyterian Church. She volunteered to work with the youth at Westminister Presbyterian Church. She participated in the LAFA young adult ministry in Augusta County. She enjoyed art, photography, family, friends and spending time outdoors. She currently was attending James Madison University for psychology with a minor in art therapy for children. Allison enjoyed working with children and traveling which included several mission trips, one to China with the New Day Creation Group and several mission trips to Summerlee, West Virginia, with her brother, Stephen, sister, Debbie, and dad, Steve.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sisters, Laura Ayers of Churchville, Mary Beth Thompson and her husband, Nolan, of Churchville, Joanna Vander Yacht of Hinesville, Georgia, and Debra Ayers of Waynesboro; paternal grandparents, Roy and Sis Ayers of Stuarts Draft; paternal grandmother, Mary Helen Ayers of Waynesboro; aunt and uncle, Cynthia and Tom Huggins; nieces and nephews, Kayla, Jaimie, Dylan, Justin, Sage, Willow, and Faith; cousins, Adam Patterson, Sabrina Huggins, Shawn and Ginger Patterson and their daughter, Alanna of Mountain Home, Idaho.

A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2008, at Westminister Presbyterian Church with Pastor Seth Hankee officiating assisted by Dr. John McDonald and Dr. Jon Lovelady. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2008, at Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes of Waynesboro.

Active pallbearers will be Larry Thompson, Nolan Thompson, Jeff Cooper, Keith Thompson, Chris Balser and Bob Campbell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Manna Scholarship Fund, 2250 Satellite Boulevard, Suite 100, Duluth Georgia 30097.

I'm saddened to hear about the loss of Allison...she was a younger member of the Crompton Kids...I want to offer condolences to her family and close friends.

Allison, You always had a smile on your face. I can remember you coming in to work, so excited. The conversation we all had with you making every situation better. Always having a positive outlook on life. You will never be forgotten.
