Not sure what to say?

I have tried to reach James Cate, Jr., and while searching I just now learned of Allison´s passing. I clearly recall being at Meadowdale Raceway when Allison and George were testing their home-built F-Jr with its distinctive Gothic arch roll bar. Notably, Allison had done the welding on the frame. Allison´s brother Jim and his friend from California were there to aid in the start-up. If this message should reach Jim, please ask him to email Myron at [email protected], or call me at...

Very sorry to hear of her passing, knew Jim well during our racing days, she was someone special in my life

Allison was a wonderful person. I met her in the mid-70s, when I read a story about her shop and asked her to be my mechanic. She took excellent care of my cars for over 20 years and was extremely patient with me, even when I forgot to check the oil. She also encouraged me to learn to shoot, showing me how much fun it could be. I was delighted when she decided to go to law school - I was sure that she would enjoy the intellectual challenge. I will miss her.

I always admired Allison's strong will and independence.
She faced every challenge head on. She will be deeply missed.
I am fortunate and proud to have been her friend.

Our hearts go out to you in your time of sorrow.

As impressive as the story told in her obituary may be, it fails to adequately describe richness of Allison's unconventional life. We squabbled as children, but became close as adults, and her shifting goals and accomplishments never failed to astonish me. I only wish that our parents had been with us to celebrate her graduation from Law School, for they would have been as proud of her as I was. I miss her terribly.
