Dear Alma...

Though you left us 6 years ago, you are always in my thoughts and prayers. The love that flowed from you to me, and to all whose lives you touched, could never be diminished by time or space. You were truly wonderful, and all who've taken the time to add their memories of you here prove that in everyway. We are all part of a "Universal Family"...it was our time at the Pasadena Playhouse that brought us together, and it was you who brought all of the others here to...

My name is Mary Harris. Alma was my cousin. Our fathers (Cliff and LeRoy) were brothers. For some reason Alma has been on my mind a lot the last several months. I decided to put her name into google and see if I could find any information about her. I am saddened to learn of her passing. I fondly remember her visiting me in Banbury England. My husband was stationed there in the military and she and her husband were in England for the theater.

Sadly, I just today heard of Alma's passing through the PPH Alumni Newsletter.

Alma & I had all of our classes together at the Pasadena Playhouse in the '63-'64 Season. She was a delight to be with, a wonderful friend, and I still have the letters and cards she sent me when I returned to St. Louis to act at the Crystal Palace in Gaslight Square.

We had played a husband & wife in a show at the Playhouse, and when Alma found out that I was going with a girl here in St. Louis...

There are no words to describe how deeply Alma touched my life. She was a dear friend & mentor to me and truly changed my perspective on life. I met Alma on the visiting day for prospective arts students at Skidmore, and Alma ended up being my partner in the exercise she constructed. It was from that moment on that I fell in love with her and was totally inspired by her. The wonderful times, laughs, endless talks, productions, meals and memories I shared with her and Steve will be part of my...

Alma and I had ten years together and I only remember the good stuff of which there was plenty. She was an extraordinary artist, teacher, and woman of the theatre. I am so happy she met her soul-mate, Steve, who was so devoted. Rina and I extend our deepest sympathies.

I loved her as my own sister. I will always cherish time together. Our trip to England, Scotland,Ireland & Paris with Alma & Steve will remain one of the highlights of my life.

Alma, I miss you and look foreword to being with you, Rose & Peg in Heaven.

Alma was an incredible influence on my life and I am grateful to have called her my teacher and my friend.
Steve, my thoughts and sincere condolences are with you.

Alma was a guiding light at the Julian Theater, SF.
