BENDALL, Alma C. - Of Grand Blanc, age 87, died Friday, June 10, 2011. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 S. Holly Road, Grand Blanc, Pastor Bill Northend officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Women's Guild, RETTS Syndrome or the American Cancer Society. Visitation 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A service will be conducted 7 p.m. Tuesday evening by Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Alma will be at the church 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service. Alma was born in Iron Mtn., MI on October 19, 1923, daughter of the late Arthur and Alice (Haley) Flom and was a resident of Grand Blanc. On June 17, 1950, she married Arthur Bendall in Flint. Alma was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church. She was also a 64 year member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and belonged to VASA Club. Alma was a Certified Master Gardener. Alma worked for AC Engineering for 12 years as a draftsman. Alma's many talents included cooking and being an artist doing oil paintings and sculpture. She enjoyed boat cruises, crosswords, Sudoku and genealogy. Surviving are husband, Arthur; Children, Rosemarie (Rich) Martone, Lawrence (Darlene) Bendall, Alice (Walter) Meyer and Eric (Maria) Bendall; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Bernice (Frank) Blaum and Arlene Flom.
