Mrs. Starr was the greatest Kindergarden teacher to grace E.R. Carter Elementary. The first educator to my older brother, sister and myself. Truly my mom away from home. I remember your conforting words to me at my father's funeral and giving your blessings and smile of encouragement at my wedding 23yrs ago.(you said, baby call me if you need anything as you hugged me after the ceremony) You left an awesome imprint on my life as well as my family. One of my greatest inspirations. Love You...

During the years, I've always wandered where my first teacher was and how she was doing. Ms. Starr was my preschool teacher at E. R. Carter Elementary School in Atlanta, Georgia and she was one of the best teachers there. She's had a positive influence on so many lives. I will always have fond memories of this beautiful lady. To the family, be encouraged. Melissa Holiday (Jonesboro, GA)

Ms. Starr,
I have wondered for years where you were and how you have been doing. Now I know that you are in your ultimate resting place. You are the lady who made me want to become a teacher; you were my very first teacher at E.R. Carter Elementary School. I remember your compassion, how wonderful your fragrance was, and the love of learning that you gave us as your students. I treasured those naps and snacks in kindergarten. Your classroom was surely our home away from home....
