Not sure what to say?

Mrs. Cunningham poured her heart & soul into the music that she so dearly loved as the Choral Director of Sardis Missionary Baptist Church Choir. I loved the passion and the spirit that she brought every Sunday in song. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. My prayers are with the family at this time of bereavement. God will provide the strength that you need. Agnes M. Gardner

Our sincere Condolences to the Sperling/Cunningham families in learning of the passing of our friend and 1961 Classmate, Alona Sperling Cunningham.

May God be your comfort, thru the Holy Spirit.

Such a beautiful soul! The impact she had in the Birmingham City Schools as well as the Birmingham Music Ministry will live forever. Rest well my friend!

I have so many fond memories of Alona! She loved music and she was a Phenomenal Musician! There were times when we were in choir rehearsal and were too loud and off key, she would say: some of you need to be on the Usher Board and not the choir. She didn't play about her music. It was amazing just to watch her play. I will truly miss her. Rest in Peace my friend. Jeanette Bentley

Audrey and Damon I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. My prayer is for God to bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Mrs. Vernona Williams

I was also touched by Mrs. Cunningham as a member of the Sardis Missionary Baptist Church Sanctuary Choir. I'm saddened to learn of her passing and pray The Comforter provides you with all that you need at this time and beyond. May the Peace of the Lord dwell with you Richly. Sharlene Jackson

My childhood memories from church include Mrs. Cunningham. She helped many of us find our voice and worship through music. Now may she sing in heaven. My condolences to the family.
