I just read this obit on the Perry High Alumni page. I did not know him, but want to say that I thank him and his family for his service to our country and what a tremendous legacy he leaves to all of us! What an amazing young man he was! My heart goes out to all of you!

LTC Alonzo McGhee was a co-worker, church member and friend. As many have stated, he always greeted you with a smile and spoke to everyone. Extremely nice guys who I know will be truly missed. I know he rest comfortable in the arms of God. Until we meet again my friend.

My prayers go out to the McGhee family. I had the honor of working with Alonzo in 2010 and 11. His committment to his family, the love that he expressed for them, and his personal charisma and drive were displayed every time we met. He will be missed.
