Aloysius M. Frangenberg

VA Beach - Aloysius M. Frangenberg, 80, of Raff Road, passed away Nov. 30, 2014.

Al served in the U.S. Navy Seabees reaching the rank of Chief Construction Mechanic E-7. He served one tour of duty in Vietnam in 1969, and was transferred to Virginia Beach in 1970. He retired in 1976, after serving 24 years. Al then worked as an aircraft production controller for NARF Norfolk until his retirement from Civil Service in 1996. Al was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was active in his church choir at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.

Al is preceded in death by his wife of 24 years Marlene D. Frangenberg, as well as his parents, 9 sisters, and 2 brothers.

Survivors include his son Kurt L. Frangenberg and his wife Sonia of California, his son Donald P. Frangenberg and his wife Cynthia of South Carolina, his son Jeffrey L. Frangenberg and his wife Kathleen of Maryland, his stepdaughter Kay Britton and her husband Jeb of Virginia Beach, his stepdaughter Jeanie Snow and her husband Tim of Virginia Beach, and his stepson Dean Brothers and his wife Marcie of Norfolk, as well as 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Friday from 6-8p.m. at Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sentara Hospice House, 3760 Sentara Way, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
